Herold has been manufacturing razor premium quality leather strops for honing straight razors since 1919, in the world’s cutlery capital Solingen, Germany. Made by Kohl & Laibach, these strops use a special Russian leather and a vegetable tanning process to create strops of utmost quality. Herold provides a wide range of Strops and Lubricants with a single aim to always ensure the smoothest performance of blades and other accessories. Herold strops are ideal to keep your blades sharp and active and ensure longer service life of the blade. Herold strops help to rectify and realign straight razor blade edge which is often bent out of alignment during shaving.

The Leather Strops by Herold Solingen generally have pre-sharpening surface on reverse side, and fine sharpening surface on front side. Made exclusively in Solingen, these strops have a long life and they always serve the purpose. The honing surface is made of a special Russian cowhide, well-known for its hard-wearing surface and elasticity—making for ideal conditions for sharpening your blades. The use of bark-tanned leather, which is then treated with fine birch oil, renders the series water resistant. 100% flax-sourced linen canvas is knit on the reverse side of the strop to warm your blade before you hone. Comes with a sturdy handle to grip the strop while sharpening. At the head of most strops in this collection, there is a metal swivel hook, allowing you to hook the strop to a fixed surface, ensuring your safety in its use. The swivel hook feature allows you to simply flip the strop over to whichever side you need, without unhooking it from the wall.
