Even at the tender age of 13, José da Cruz showed a keen interest in the art of knife making. He developed knowledge and craft for over twenty years before opening a specialized knife company, Cutelaria José da Cruz, based in Palaçoulo, a small village in northeast Portugal. After running the company for a decade, his son, Daniel Macias, who grew up around cutlery and his father's passion for designing a variety of stylish and durable knives, has been working with him since 2015. José da Cruz's goal is to produce the best knives by combining old-world craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology to become a prominent supplier of traditional knives in the international marketplace.
