Higonokami 8 Knife Series is a friction folder knife. It stayed true to its traditional roots and consists of a traditional style blade and handle. It does not have any locking mechanism, it uses the friction of the swivel or the pressure of the user’s thumb on the lever to prevent the knife from folding during use. The knife has a slim, straight profile that easily fits in jeans pockets and wallets. It features a satin finish blue paper steel blade. These are specialized Japanese steel with a high level of stickiness and abrasion resistance. Thanks to the use of chromium and tungsten in the blade it does not chip out or wear away easily like normal white steel.
