A Search & Rescue Knife is generally made with a stainless-steel tanto fixed blade. The handles of these knives come with deeply grooved rubber wrapped aluminum handles, and molded black Zytel handles, that provide a firm and comfortable grip over the knife. S&W Search & Rescue Knives come with a ballistic polyester belt sheath with a storage pouch, which makes the knife easy to carry and to further add it keeps the knife safe from unnecessary scratch protecting the sharpness of blades. With the included sharpening stone, the user can keep the blade razor-sharp. The sharp blades are further crafted with high-grade 7Cr17MoV high carbon stainless steel,  serrated black finish 440 stainless for strength and durability. Some of these knives also come with black finish stainless pocket clips, making it easier for the user to carry without even flashing the knives. Some of the folding knives in this series come with additional features like a higher stainless steel blade, glass breaker handle, cord cutter, etc. A larger part of the Search and Rescue knife series includes knives with lanyard holes and extended tang for additional balance.
