  • Effective Modern Version

    By Guy M. on February 18, 2026
The BD-2 BLK Contractor draws its soul from a long lineage of Italian blade-making, tracing back to the Renaissance stiletto and the iconic trench daggers used by the Arditi. Historically, Italian double-edged designs prioritized the thrust, evolving from battlefield sidearms into compact, concealable tools used for personal protection and close-quarters precision.
The build feels robust in hand though the knife weighs only 105g (3.7 oz). The double-edged geometry and aggressive design mean it rarely qualifies as a standard "pocket knife" for everyday carry. In many jurisdictions, a blade sharpened on both sides reclassifies the tool as a dagger or dirk, making pocket carry legally precarious. The BD-2 Contractor is better suited for a sheath or pouch. This placement ensures the double-guard flipper doesn't snag on pocket linings and keeps the knife oriented. If you are looking for more of an EDC check out the "Lucky" style.
