“Lighter Bro” is the result of an idea that was born in the local Santa Barbara Mountains on a hike and natural environment exploration. It was then that Kyber decided to make a tool that does almost anything that a person needs in the wilderness. The idea was to simply design and manufacture a pocket knife or traditional multi-tool that is a combination of everything, compact, and super useful. In 2006, Kyber shared the idea with Matt, however, the idea got shelved for the next 4 years and Kyber went on sailing the world’s vast oceans. It was then in 2010 that both the friends reunited in Tahiti and created the first LighterBro concept model in 3D CAD. After this, they built 12 different prototypes over months in their garage during free time before converging on what Lighter Bro is today.

 

It was in 2013 Nov. that the first mass-produced retail packed products arrived and the website was launched. What brought Lighter Bro into the limelight was the media attention. The products reached more people with reviews done by newspapers, blogs, video channels, and web media outlets. Every Lighter Bro product is warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship for the life of the owner. Lighter Bro will repair or replace with a new item (at their option) any Lighter Bro product that is defective. Since Lighter BroLighter Bro will return the original item without a replacement. Some products cannot be repaired depending on the limited availability of parts. In these situations, Lighter Bro will furnish a currently manufactured item that most closely matches the item sent in for repair.

 

Defects and repairs not covered under warranty:

Lighter Bro does not warrant its products against normal wear or misuse. Products are not intended to be used as hammers, chisels, pry bars, or screwdrivers. If your knife or other item was damaged due to misuse, our repair department can analyze the damage and repair it for a reasonable fee.
