The manufacturing of knives was an obvious step for S&W since the venture focuses on safety and security. The tactical knives were made in-house in the beginning. However, for some time (1986-1993) Vermont Cutlery Co of West Rutland VT manufactured knives for them. Today, all the Smith & Wesson knives are made and sold by Taylor Cutlery.
