The History of Comp-Tac & How it Came Into Being

Accurately known as the company of shooters, for shooters, Comp-Tac Victory Gear commenced in 2001. Owner and founder, Gregg Garrett, spent the initial years of his career as a performing artist in the field of ballet dancing, a physically challenging and draining form of dance. By the time he was in his early thirties, he had traveled the globe and performed before numerous celebrated individuals and royalty, before changing his path and pursuing his childhood passion – shooting. Gregg Garrett started bodyguarding and found himself in need of a concealed firearm during this time. After purchasing a heat gun, he took it upon himself to create a low-cost holster with Kydex and was surprised when it became a hit among colleagues. They were impressed by the bulk-free and low-profile design he created at a minimal cost, and owing to its resemblance to the popular food, coined the holster’s name – the Taco. Garrett spent his nights making holsters for himself and his co-workers henceforth.

 

Inspired by the outcome, Garrett spent four years designing, creating, and manufacturing to be able to stand up to the fast-paced and ever-growing gun industry, before finally recruiting an employee in the year 2000. This marked the unofficial beginning of Comp-Tac.  Comp-Tac Victory Gear started taking small steps into the world of tactical tools and accessories, gradually evolving to become one of the largest known brands in the industry today. The team at Comp-Tac is one of real, accomplished shooters who have been victorious in hundreds of competitions and are illustrious members of IDPA. The company, however, has been acquired by HSGI, a prestigious brand that is known to offer the finest American-made tactical gear. Comp-Tac products are fully warranted to the original owner against defects in manufacturing and workmanship for the lifetime of the product. If a product ever fails due to a manufacturing defect, Comp-Tac will repair it or replace it, at their discretion.

Returns: Comp-Tac has a thirty-day no questions asked return policy on products except for custom items. Shipping charges are not refunded. If you return your item for a refund, Comp-Tac will process your refund in 7-21 business days.

Exchange: Comp-Tac offers a 30 Day Exchange Period. If a particular holster does not fit your carrying needs it can be exchanged for a different product. Once we know what product you would like to exchange it for you can mail it back and we will mail out the exchange. All shipping charges will apply.
